Betfair surprised the industry in October 2006, by leaving the growing Cryptologic network, and building up its own poker network after acquiring poker site Poker Champs and its associated technology company.

Four years later, Betfair's head of poker, Daniel Svard admits the things didn't go accordingly to the plan and the UK-based company moves its poker operations to Bwin-owned Ongame network.

Daniel Svard mentions the move to Ongame network is a part of Betfair's attempt to become a brand more customer focused. As a part of this revamp, Betfair will also introduce a customer loyalty scheme, which combined with the attractive promotions offered will take Betfair poker to the next level.

The migration to the network poker took place on the 27th of July, and after welcoming the Betfair players, the Ongame network has made a significant step to take the market leader position as the biggest poker network.
